Ministries

Grace Bible Church Thornlands has many different ministries that are worth knowing about.

If you’d like to know more about any of the ministries listed below, please email us at thornlands@gracebible.org.au

Regular Ministries

Below we’ve listed the formal ministries that our church runs besides the main weekly Sunday gathering.

Besides these, there are so many things going on in the life of our church that happen at an informal level. We have men discipling one another, women discipling one another, mothers meet ups, young adult socials, evangelism, mercy, and hospitality in the home to name a few.

Grace Kids

Grace Kids is our children’s Sunday school program for children aged 4-11 (prep to grade 6).

Our kids spend the whole service in Sunday School. We provide age-appropriate teaching and activities by trained volunteers. Our hope and prayer is to see children become life-long followers of Jesus as we ground them in the gospel and the truths found in the Bible.

The ministry lasts for two hours, about 20 minutes longer than our average service, and this gives parents the opportunity for morning tea and fellowship after the service.

Grace Kids is run all year round except the last Sunday of every month. On the last Sunday of the month, everyone stays in the service as one big family.

Grace Groups

Grace Groups are the engine room of our church, providing mid-week fellowship, encouragement, prayer, and Bible study. We have several groups which run at various times during the week during the school term – this includes a daytime Grace Group for those unable to make it to the night groups. We also have a Grace Group that runs in the summer for both outreach and discipleship purposes (see more below).

If you’d like to visit a group, please speak to one of our elders or email us at thornlands@gracebible.org.au

Grace Youth

Grace Youth is our high school group. Ministering to those in grades 7-12, it teaches the truths of scripture in an understandable and practical way. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for teens to meet and form meaningful relationships under the supervision of thoughtful and caring leaders. The group meets weekly at the church building during school terms.

Please contact us for more information or meeting times at thornlands@gracebible.org.au

Grace Groups in Community

Grace Groups in Community is an outreach ministry. During the summer holidays, we have groups that meet weekly in the park to reach out to the community. We hold something to engage with the community (free food or fun activities), and after this time, we invite those we meet to stay as our group studies the Bible.

Please contact us for more information or meeting times at thornlands@gracebible.org.au

Come & See

Come & See is an evangelism ministry. We see our post-modern and post-Christian culture and have designed this 4-week series to meet people where they are at as we relate to them through hospitality and meaningful discussions about the deep questions in life. We show that Jesus answers our deepest needs in the prayerful hope that this would begin the journey towards receiving God’s grace in Christ.

Note: All leaders & teachers who serve in the above ministries have government-issued blue cards and receive ongoing safe ministry training.
